Faz is an ex-Ship’s Master and a qualified lawyer in England and Wales, with over three decades’ experience in the maritime industry.

Faz’s career started at sea where he worked on tankers, container vessels and bulk carriers, navigating some of the most challenging waters around the world. His legal career has encompassed heading up the Global Shipping Team at a major International Law Firm in London, and leading an insurance company as CEO. Faz has established himself as one of the most respected lawyers in the field of shipping law, his experience having given him an unparalleled understanding of the complex issues that can arise in today’s shipping market.

Today he oversees a growing team of Solicitors and Mariners, many of whom he has recruited personally. Faz always works alongside his team throughout the lifespan of a case – and he has led teams on some of the most significant cases in recent memory, including the Prestige, Costa Concordia, Ever Given, and the successful Supreme Court judgment on The Ever Smart [2021] UKSC 6.

Faz’s primary focus is on shipping disputes, and he has a significant Owner, Insurer, and Trader client base. He is highly regarded in the industry for his ability to provide a world class legal Emergency Response Service, particularly in casualty situations.
